The Mary Kay Place Legacy Award recognizes individuals who have advanced the standard of theatrical excellence in the Tulsa community through creative contribution, artistic vision, exemplary service and outstanding leadership.
Nominees must meet the following criteria:
- Ten years or more of service in the Tulsa theatre community
- A significant contribution as an actor, director, designer, playwright, educator, producer, and/or administrator
- Influence beyond his or her local company that made a positive impact on the entire theatre community in Tulsa
- Nominee must be living at the time of nomination
The Tulsa Awards for Theatre Excellence reserves the right not to present a Legacy Award in any given year.
The Legacy Award winner is selected from a field of individuals nominated by the general public. The TATE advisory committee and invited members of the Tulsa community will chose the recipient based on the overall impact of the nominee’s contribution, the accuracy of the information provided and the persuasion of the nomination.
