1. Adjudicators are to attend productions as scheduled and make reservations NO LATER THAN ONE WEEK PRIOR TO OPENING. Judges will purchase tickets for the performances they attend through regular outlets. Judges will be reimbursed for these purchases by the Foundation. Complimentary tickets will NOT be accepted for judges. As an adjudicator, you must attend all productions assigned by TATE Liaison. If for any reason you cannot attend, notify the TATE Liaison immediately. Adjudicators are never allowed to arrange their own replacement; your TATE Liaison will handle all replacements.
2. You are expected to view the entire production. Plan to arrive at least fifteen minutes before curtain. Do not adjudicate a show if there are any missed parts of a performance. If an adjudication cannot be rescheduled for another date, notify your TATE Liaison immediately so that a replacement can be scheduled. Turning in a ballot for a partially adjudicated show voids the ballot completely. Failure to adjudicate an assigned show without notifying your TATE Liaison will result in automatic disqualification as an adjudicator for future seasons.
3. Ballots must be mailed (return envelope provided in adjudicator packet) no more than 48 hours after the close of the production run.
4. A total of three adjudicators judge each nominated performance. A fourth adjudicator (alternate judge) will attend each production. This ballot is only used if one of the three main adjudicators was unable to attend. All the ballots for each show must be mailed to our Independent Accountant. Scores for each category will be recorded, as well as the total score. Aggregate scores will be totaled and averaged according to the number of judges to determine a final score. Awards will go to the productions that earn the highest total average score.
5 Adjudicators are expected to keep their scores and opinions confidential.
6. Notify TATE Liaison promptly if there are any changes in your personal contact information (telephone, email address, etc.).
7. All judges MUST attend an orientation session that will familiarize them with the ballot and the judging process.
8. A conflict of interest statement must be signed by each adjudicator for each production and returned to the TATE Liaison.
9. Packets will be given to each adjudicator upon TATE committee receiving new nominations of productions.
Each Judge’s packet should include:
- Copy of application
- Ballot
- Conflict of Interest Statement
- Reimbursement form
- Ballot envelope addressed to accountants
- Addressed reimbursement envelope
